How do you test a web design?

First you have to make sure the code is according to standard.

A web page is coded with two types of codes, HTML and CSS.

HTML code control the information. CSS control the styling.

The World Wide Web Consortium, an international consortium of companies involved with the Internet and the Web. The W3C was founded in 1994 by Tim Berners-Lee, the original architect of the World Wide Web. The organization's purpose is to develop open standards so that the Web evolves in a single direction rather than being splintered among competing factions.

Here you can validate the
HTML code
and the
CSS code.

Failure to conform to standards may make a web site unusable.

The screen size varies on different PC’s. So you should try to zoom to see how it looks.

Current trend is that more and more people use smart phone instead of PC to browse the www.

So you have to test to see how your web site looks on a smart phone.

Download speed is important. People will move to another site if it takes more than 5 seconds.

Last but not least, your new customers have to find your web site, normally by using a search engine.

The biggest search engines are Google, Yahoo and Bing.

To test if your web site is optimized for search engines you have to try some relevant key words on this 3 search engines.

For example our client that is selling drinking water in Mactan.

A new customer that live in Mactan is looking for drinking water and will search for
“drinking water mactan”,
then this site;

should show high up the list, if the web design is good.
